Punjab gangsters going extortion wild - Punjab crime boss Bishnoi calling shots


A leaked Abbotsford Police bulletin suggested Lawrence Bishnoi is playing a key role.
Edmonton cops revealed more details of their investigation into extortion attempts, arsons, and drive-by shootings connected to gangsters in Punjab. A drive-by shooting is among 27 recent 'events' cops are trying to solve. These are five extortions, 15 arsons and seven firearms offences. Fires caused at least $9m in damage.
Cops in 3 provinces are dealing with extortions targeting Indian businessmen. Thugs are believed to be tied to a gang based in India headed by Lawrence Bishnoi. Hindi-speakers use the messaging service WhatsApp to threaten violence and demand cash.
Investigations in B.C., Ontario and Alberta are underway. Wanted Punjab gangster Lakhbir Singh 'Landa' lives in Edmonton openly.

On Dec 28, Surrey RCMP arrested two men they said were involved in extortion attempts. They were released while charges are pondered.
