The investigation began in December 2019 when Millbrook RCMP was told by the chief of the Millbrook First Nation about a fraud of $1m by a former employee. Dawn Ellis-Abbott of Bible Hill, N.S. has been ordered to pay the band more than $3.2m, plus more than $849k in interest in a civil judgment. She was arrested in March 17, 2023. She was released on conditions. RCMP say she stole more than $4m over four years between January 2016 and December 2019 from the Millbrook First Nation.![]() | ![]() |
